For the first time, as part of a five-day event series, science and industry get together in Germany’s center of Medical Engineering. Innovation often is transported by small and medium enterprises or academic spin-offs. Reimbursement and admission restrictions handicap young entrepreneurs, especially in combination with a lack of start-up capital. Here we need a solidarity between big and small partners.
Cutting-Edge Research in Germany's Medical Valley 3-D Imaging in Medicine
In 2011, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), has launched an initiative to advertise Germany as an excellent research location. Under the motto “Germany – Land of Ideas”, the campaign highlighted the attractiveness of Germany and its research environment in important target countries and present German research organisations, including universities, institutes, and private companies that are active in the field of research. The field of medical technology has been selected for the fourth thematic campaign for the period 2011-2013. Erlangen was one of those eight selected "ambassadors" with a focus on "3-D Imaging in Medicine".
